Dim Sum Go Go

Vegetarian Dim Sum Platter

In 2000, Dim Sum Go Go made headlines when it decided not to use dim sum carts to roll out its food. The owner, Veronica Leung, grew up in a restaurant family in Shanghai and NYC. Inspired by her mom's cooking, she opened her restaurant with the design help of her friend, NYTimes French critic Colette Rossant. Together, they brought a modern twist to traditional dim sum restaurant decor, which is French-influenced and accentuated with traditionally Chinese-styled illustrations.

Dim Sum Go Go takes pride in traditional dim sum as well as signature vegetarian-friendly options with a reputation for quality and freshness. In fact, you can check out how they make their food through their Tik Tok page – your mouth will water! We had the Roast Duck Dumplings, Shrimp & Mango Rolls (not found anywhere else in Chinatown), Vegetarian Dim Sum Platter, and Sliced Beef and Young Ginger (one of the most popular dishes). For dessert, we had Tapioca with Egg Yolk Custard and Malaysian Rolls. Our favorite entree was the Vegetarian Dim Sum Platter. The red & green dumplings stood out to us – Eric, the manager, mentioned that the color is derived from freshly-sourced spinach and beet juice. Alas, the Malaysian Rolls were to die for as well. It was warm, soft, and spongy in all the right places.

Throughout the pandemic, the staff worked painstakingly to keep its doors open. Operating as a four-person team, it was one of the first few dim sum places to offer delivery services. Because Dim Sum Go Go found success by providing a no-frills option of serving dim sum, it will be opening a stall in the Lower East Side where you'll be able to grab and go with your freshly-made food.

Make sure to support them and keep an eye out for their new location!
