Grand Tea and Imports

Jasmine Tea, Rose Black Tea, and Tangerine Pu-erh

Grand Tea and Imports, formerly Good Tea Water, is a multi-generational family business founded in 2006. Mr. Liu, the founder, became inspired to open his shop after returning from a trip to his hometown in Taishan, China. He saw how tea was an integral part of Chinese culture and wanted to share his love of tea with the Chinatown community! For Mr. Liu, tea is not just a hot beverage. He uses tea to teach his two Chinese-American daughters (Alice & Karen) family values, life lessons, and Chinese culture. He is even nicknamed “Teafucius” due to his extensive knowledge of teas.

You can find various fine teas at Mr. Liu’s tea shop, ranging from traditional teas like pu-erh (fermented tea) and iron goddess (green oolong tea) to floral teas like rose and jasmine. In addition, the family sells a variety of unique cultural goods and traditional religious items such as incense, altars, and Buddhist statues.

Last week, Chloe had the pleasure of meeting “Teafucius” himself, and he was super helpful in providing tea recommendations based on what her dad liked.

Go check ‘em out if you’re ever in the area. Mr. Liu just might be able to find your cup of tea.
