Round K by Sol

Seoul Mule

In 2014, Han, the owner of Round K by Sol, came to the US by himself to pursue an accounting internship. His original plan was to return to Korea afterward, but he then serendipitously met the previous owner of Round K and decided to stay. Back then, Round K was on Allen Street and functioned as a Da-bang, a Korean-style cafe. Han decided to work as a dishwasher after learning much about the food and beverage industry from Round K’s previous owner. Han proved his trustworthiness and expertise and became a manager of the establishment.

Today, Han is the owner of Round K by Sol. It serves Korean-inspired American comfort food, pastries, and drinks, (their fried chicken is a hit,) and has become a popular spot in the neighborhood.

To spice things up, Han recently opened the space up as a speakeasy by night!

When you enter the seating area of the establishment, the ambiance is accompanied by jazz, and it is romantic, soothing, and elegant (Han mentioned that his wife meticulously decorated the space!) You also have the option of entering their backyard, which is decorated with fairy lights and accompanied by adorable paintings on the wall. It really is the perfect spot to catch up, drink, and wind down with your loved ones.

All the drinks and snacks are Korean-influenced; the drinks all consist of soju. We got the Reconstruction Cappuccino, Manhattan Iced Coffee, Grandpa’s Smoke, Seoul Mule, and Peach Cosmopolitan, which were specifically made for us. Our favorite cocktails were the Grandpa Smoke, Peach Cosmopolitan, and Reconstruction Cappuccino. The snacks were so delicious, and we especially liked the Gambas Al Kimchi and were surprised by how complementary the combination of fried shrimp and stir-fried Kimchi was! We are really looking forward to their Galbi cocktail that hasn’t rolled out yet. It’s made of Soju, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil and resembles the taste of caramelized Galbi (Korean beef short ribs)!

Go do yourself a service and have a beautiful night with your loved ones at Round K by Sol. We are confident that it is going to be the next hotspot— so go before everyone does!
