Miss Du’s Tea Shop
Miss Du’s Tea Shop, the newest business on historic Pell Street, was open on July 3rd, 2021. Cynthia Wang, the owner, is originally from Shenyang, China. A piano performance student at the Mannes School of Music, she opened the shop in honor of her mom, Miss Du. Cynthia loves Chinese culture, and you can find artwork of Peking opera on the store’s walls and on the baristas’ aprons.
At Miss Du’s Tea Shop, you can find healthy fruit teas and bubble milk teas low in sugar and calories. At Cynthia’s recommendation, we tried their signature lemon red dragon fruit tea and lemon mango green tea. The baristas carefully crush the ice and fruits by hand and mix them with freshly brewed tea. Cynthia even gave us a sample of the drink to make sure the sugar level was to our liking.
So next time you’re in Chinatown, try these refreshing and guilt-free drinks to beat the heat!
